OBJECTIVE

• "Does a candle wick require heat to burn the wax?"

MATERIALS

• candle
• copper coil

PROCEDURE

1. Light the candle and slowly lower the copper coil around the wick.
2. What do you observe?
3. Hold the copper coil around the wick for a couple seconds.
4. Slowly raise the copper coil.
5. Raise and lower the copper coil around the wick.
