GearGrapher
Terms
- inches = gear inches
- gear = rear cog or freewheel cog
- ring = chainring or chainwheel
- speed = a particular gear-and-ring combination
- mph = miles per hour for a given cadence and ring/gear combination
- kph = kilometers per hour for a given cadence and ring/gear combination
- Gear Inches = (ring/gear) * wheel diameter
Calculated by dividing a particular ring by a particular gear, then multiplying the answer by the diameter of the wheel in inches.
Thanks to Dr. Larry Squillace for the idea, and to Dave Mack for sharing his bicycle knowledge.
Instructions
